In an interesting turn of events, I now have a turntable. And a 5 disc changer. And a tape deck, equalizer, tuner, and amp with surround sound speakers. I couldn’t be more excited!

In 1989 my Granddad purchased a full Yamaha stereo system. It was a top-of-the-line system that served him well over the years. I can remember every Christmas him playing music as we opened presents. I always thought the system was sweet.

Since he died a few months back, my Grandma has been giving things away that she knows she won’t use, or doesn’t have room for. One of these items was the stereo, and she decided it should come to me.

So yesterday the system was delivered and after a small connection problem was resolved, it’s proudly playing one of my three LPs. I’m pretty sure this is the first time this system has played any Youth Brigade.

So what’s next?  Now that I have the turntable, I won’t need to put one on my Christmas list, so instead I’m asking for a bunch of vinyl to play on the stereo. Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, Misfits, etc.  This stereo is going to get a workout!
